<br />
Today I'm excited be a part of the Clique Kits Wildflower Blog Share hop. It all started with Gia who sent us a pile of fun Carta Bella Wildflower papers along with a bag full of embellishment goodies. A few days later Lacey sent us an envelope of custom designed die cuts and flair to go with the Wildflower papers we received.<br />
<br />
Here is the quote the challenge is based on:<span data-measureme="1"><span class="null">
"May your life be like a wild flower...Growing freely in the beauty and joy of each day"- Native American Proverb
Challenge: Use something "wild" on your page.
Literal interpreatation: a wild animal or plant.
Figurative interpretation: something unique/different for YOU!</span></span><br />
<br />
<span data-measureme="1"><span class="null">You should have arrived here from <a href="http://laceybugcreations.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Lacey's</a> blog. If you didn't, be sure and go back and check out her projects.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span data-measureme="1"><span class="null">I received so much product I couldn't stop myself. I'll start with a couple of layouts:</span></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What's so wild about this layout? The moose head and moose sticker I used to embellish this layout of some of my favorite summer blooms. The literal interpretation. I also hand-sewed a circle to further frame my layout.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I love the ombre color of this paper. My wild element here is using the mesh ribbon from the kit as first, a stencil and then second, as an embellishment. I used the Perfect Pearls powder with Watermark ink for the stenciling. To the kit I added crimped, gray cardstock, burlap, and a gray flower with some machine-sewing to complete this page.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made a couple of cards as well. I used bits and pieces of papers, embellishments, flair and even feathers to make these two cards. Feathers and the little fox are the wild elements on these.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYDvPDznphX-YACjeJxHjc4qmdYrhQm5R2dHG_SzLVbi3bgnF69m6epnjXVH0bVAhhnrkKyha9s6Mr8zZCyvB6JcHjKqcjLdLtGWJpP_AixIvmz6udTzCedc8s9Aav3NMPQyZMJaPS0Po/s1600/atcs1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYDvPDznphX-YACjeJxHjc4qmdYrhQm5R2dHG_SzLVbi3bgnF69m6epnjXVH0bVAhhnrkKyha9s6Mr8zZCyvB6JcHjKqcjLdLtGWJpP_AixIvmz6udTzCedc8s9Aav3NMPQyZMJaPS0Po/s1600/atcs1.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCCKC577sgIx47ty24UnjE05zAuXPDUSTxsWYk6nlkDLAiiRvDOjjcXXdl0oYBiSLiAA-Yu4YjacMW3rxmBepFffJ3e16toHOWrLS1lcTEToL_ryo6lpYaJkWElSwj5QBZ52oIF1CLeRM/s1600/atcs2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCCKC577sgIx47ty24UnjE05zAuXPDUSTxsWYk6nlkDLAiiRvDOjjcXXdl0oYBiSLiAA-Yu4YjacMW3rxmBepFffJ3e16toHOWrLS1lcTEToL_ryo6lpYaJkWElSwj5QBZ52oIF1CLeRM/s1600/atcs2.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I also made a couple of ATCs as well. I used the mesh ribbon with some texture paste to make the plain cardstock more interesting. I made a color mist with the Perfect Pearls mixed into some water in a spritzer bottle. I used some of the layered flowers I made for the project below to finish these off.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIFswOjo0zl3kTIKf5H_VKABZmnbO64_HFJPGTEJpIiGxkLWo5yqAiIE7GT_Yjp7jt5fV54jzy2OlBvykA-aeZ7t4DmitlcCZiu5r5wufTmMUWDmw8N8SYYYQW7cMhY-SH6R69tocIeTU/s1600/chunkytag1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIFswOjo0zl3kTIKf5H_VKABZmnbO64_HFJPGTEJpIiGxkLWo5yqAiIE7GT_Yjp7jt5fV54jzy2OlBvykA-aeZ7t4DmitlcCZiu5r5wufTmMUWDmw8N8SYYYQW7cMhY-SH6R69tocIeTU/s1600/chunkytag1.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
And finally what I'm calling a chunky tag. Fun, huh?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC0nz3ZYkGrwcYX6fNFFLsj211q2JPMso_VcOeEKQKQrEcu__3JQduKu6PNxjBaGvP085OHKzpIkGSEsbGDarigMzFh8nBhYslLGX_f_52GlSManwNdtk5YbVw_TXTg_QRtGhz15jpluE/s1600/chunkytag6.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC0nz3ZYkGrwcYX6fNFFLsj211q2JPMso_VcOeEKQKQrEcu__3JQduKu6PNxjBaGvP085OHKzpIkGSEsbGDarigMzFh8nBhYslLGX_f_52GlSManwNdtk5YbVw_TXTg_QRtGhz15jpluE/s1600/chunkytag6.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here's how it started. I took a piece of wood, three inches wide, six inches long and not quite an inch thick.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJN4fpf4DgifKG2Naxcil6RNCcRt7hu0CGaJrrb700PKAFsHtEv804y5DLs9J8Ks8nw6sIBPnCv_ZcACm9yo8wTFYPl0rxSo8xsTylY7V8caERESx3it6XqLSBbn6xXqPpQeo6GITGS84/s1600/chunkytag7.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJN4fpf4DgifKG2Naxcil6RNCcRt7hu0CGaJrrb700PKAFsHtEv804y5DLs9J8Ks8nw6sIBPnCv_ZcACm9yo8wTFYPl0rxSo8xsTylY7V8caERESx3it6XqLSBbn6xXqPpQeo6GITGS84/s1600/chunkytag7.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I made paint mixing the Perfect Pearls powder with some water. I painted it on with a brush, allowing it to dry between coats.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiZn811xdTk9yMRU-bT337Zlgu3X5zK5636rWXH7LGs2dkbNEuggL_XnBucDSamSJFzWVRblkEW39R6Z0nKziveuDoJEhayrD_M8pWaKCcw1WPcW2cHpUgl-8OBven44lYbyQfDiAHcIw/s1600/chunkytag4.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiZn811xdTk9yMRU-bT337Zlgu3X5zK5636rWXH7LGs2dkbNEuggL_XnBucDSamSJFzWVRblkEW39R6Z0nKziveuDoJEhayrD_M8pWaKCcw1WPcW2cHpUgl-8OBven44lYbyQfDiAHcIw/s1600/chunkytag4.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I die cut a bunch of flowers with my Tim Holtz tattered florals mini die.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4K322EfNzTQ8MSzFupscXqHfyGEPzUxF-7Xa72ABsQo-0sJ3KxZ9beZ1nDCd-nPf7TmyPLPoAUDxeqWcYTqYHJsWjtNDsMEPXiZm2BekmE5kffugwm_cahP11rsGo9fXY-NB1KzqxafQ/s1600/chunkytag5.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4K322EfNzTQ8MSzFupscXqHfyGEPzUxF-7Xa72ABsQo-0sJ3KxZ9beZ1nDCd-nPf7TmyPLPoAUDxeqWcYTqYHJsWjtNDsMEPXiZm2BekmE5kffugwm_cahP11rsGo9fXY-NB1KzqxafQ/s1600/chunkytag5.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I layered up the flowers after inking and added Glitz rhinestones to the centers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidhhJdA0OEKsB-BaDVU_hebADnQUAgLWnGF_tkG_WPDpHl8hxdE66CmoMJQ1JnusamnngzIPJIl7ZWBGXtAnAKOBlerkLWr6iwwUF3mLCm7sxOmWL8E4cQ3qravo7oYspAI839K53_9uY/s1600/chunkytag2+-+Copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidhhJdA0OEKsB-BaDVU_hebADnQUAgLWnGF_tkG_WPDpHl8hxdE66CmoMJQ1JnusamnngzIPJIl7ZWBGXtAnAKOBlerkLWr6iwwUF3mLCm7sxOmWL8E4cQ3qravo7oYspAI839K53_9uY/s1600/chunkytag2+-+Copy.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The little "art doll" is my wild element. I've never made one of these before. I picked up the die a few weeks ago in the clearance bin at ACMoore. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsnXMzBXJXBPV3Xz3TB8kLYoviYFTe4XvG91Ss26wu3bZYofyizE7LWCqF7KcOkyDyzjPLrfKczvte1C835ke9cqmhbSEKz4NMAU5liT_ClrRQsJZF8P_nQkDOM9aJRasR0nlGzBf6978/s1600/chunkytag3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsnXMzBXJXBPV3Xz3TB8kLYoviYFTe4XvG91Ss26wu3bZYofyizE7LWCqF7KcOkyDyzjPLrfKczvte1C835ke9cqmhbSEKz4NMAU5liT_ClrRQsJZF8P_nQkDOM9aJRasR0nlGzBf6978/s1600/chunkytag3.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I layered on the mesh ribbon, the photo frame die, leaf die, flowers, and a butterfly from my stash. The flower angel wings are Tim Holtz grunge board covered with Distress Crackle paint and dabber.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilgBxwcygUD_VuKMMHwzO7WIjt-MXpAl5YGGn43NWZYggbQel6EzZ3eJxfe6UnblA5sn9W24oaPKqMip3_lhUKTAg6kV5RmEFqz2UHgBhyphenhyphenrCz2fU07kSbOy40QM-253FpskaBrSPDcqmg/s1600/chunkytag8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilgBxwcygUD_VuKMMHwzO7WIjt-MXpAl5YGGn43NWZYggbQel6EzZ3eJxfe6UnblA5sn9W24oaPKqMip3_lhUKTAg6kV5RmEFqz2UHgBhyphenhyphenrCz2fU07kSbOy40QM-253FpskaBrSPDcqmg/s1600/chunkytag8.jpg" height="400" width="328" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I added a button on top and bottle cap feet. This garden angel chunky tag makes me think of spring. Anything that makes me think of spring when we just got a foot of snow and have temps in the single digits is very good. :)<br />

I printed all the photos, I put them in, added the journaling. Yes, I really did. <br />
<br />
I'm usually not so great with these open-ended projects. I often start with great intentions and motivation and get distracted by more fun projects along the way. I think the keys to my success were: Creating my Daily in advance--it wasn't all done before the beginning of December but it was all complete before the end of the month. Making a list of the photos as I went along--my memory isn't what it used to be so jotting down each day's activity really helped. Having to blog about it for MemoryWorks--always a good motivator. Thanks to these things I finished my Daily and am very proud of myself. <br />
<br />
I blogged previously some of my pages. Here are a few more.<br />

My completed Daily. It ended up being quite chunky. Chunky is always good. :)<br />

Like many of the other designers I included a calendar for the month. Of course if I had thought I might use this in my Daily I most likely would not have written in BIG, brown Sharpie the reminder for bagged leaf pick-up. It was moot anyway, there was snow on the ground and we couldn't rake let-alone have the township pick up our bagged leaves. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMIQFDFdLn3v63NSCFJdih-T8Bpi-XQoaqXTXGSTlEqXeklClcKnj2Ywqsh7PKgF60kysGndHxqDWNnXqeV4NsMJogSlgx736sS9W2ZrKAJ7u3MJr3Kg2bvedmYl32uFWpbCdZUjEbNAg/s1600/007+-+Copy.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMIQFDFdLn3v63NSCFJdih-T8Bpi-XQoaqXTXGSTlEqXeklClcKnj2Ywqsh7PKgF60kysGndHxqDWNnXqeV4NsMJogSlgx736sS9W2ZrKAJ7u3MJr3Kg2bvedmYl32uFWpbCdZUjEbNAg/s1600/007+-+Copy.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Simple pages, good reminders. <br />

We didn't actually open gifts with our kids till the 28th, so I did most of my shopping after Christmas and didn't fill up under the tree until then. <br />

I left several pages for Dec 28th since I knew we'd be opening gifts with the kids then hosting my husband's family get-together.<br />

I finished on a good note with a New Year's Eve selfie. <br />
<br />
As I said, I'm really happy I completed my Daily. It sits proudly in my scrap space, all ready to look through and remember the month.<br />
<br />
Next week I'm privileged to be teaming up with some of the former TeamWorks designers and their new company Clique Kits for a blog share and hop. We're playing with some great products including custom designed flair and die cuts. I hope you'll join us!<br />
<br />
Be happy, get scrappy!<br />

<br />
Hey there bloggers, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New
Year to you all from southeast PA where it's a blustery cold winter
day. All is as it should be.<br />
<br />
Jenn here to share with you my Daily pages for Christmas day. Yes, I said pages.<br />
<br />
Before
I get into my pages I'd like to express my delight in seeing the
various December Daily styles represented by my fellow design team
members. They are all amazing! From the altered children's book to the
countdown clipboard, to the hand bound books, each designer has
showcased products beautifully, shared new and interesting techniques
and let us into their world by sharing their days this month. I love
the range of styles and products. You can't help but be inspired to try
something new in your scrapbooks whether you're a traditional scrapper,
Project Life-er, love to use mixed media, artsy-fartsy techniques--or
all of the above. :)<br />
<br />
Back to my pages. As I
mentioned in previous posts, I pre-designed my Daily. I was concerned
that if I didn't I'd start a Daily and by day 5 it would be tossed to
the way-side for more fun, important scrappy/crafty tasks. In the
interests of full disclosure, I didn't finish my pre-design before the
month started, and I still have photos to print and put in. I have
scheduled that into my calendar however, so it will be finished within
the first couple days of the new year. During my pre-design process I
decided to devote several pages Christmas day. I couldn't think of one
single photo that depicts the day, rather numerous photos to show the
progression of the day.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ494FSFoQu_pdNTyDsZeM3jx9RrkdRb5GQ1HgV_-uhwM_NWwHNAL_-3SlhsdmdCj0D7Zhzar2lRb3gYqSskkCtclEWZmxG-HjsTsZO_ArIDJ0_zrCSUGpVQSuY4Fy21UJgVJSP9tclWc/s1600/dd+219.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ494FSFoQu_pdNTyDsZeM3jx9RrkdRb5GQ1HgV_-uhwM_NWwHNAL_-3SlhsdmdCj0D7Zhzar2lRb3gYqSskkCtclEWZmxG-HjsTsZO_ArIDJ0_zrCSUGpVQSuY4Fy21UJgVJSP9tclWc/s320/dd+219.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I
started by creating a "chapter page," no photos, just a 3x4" card,
old-school heat embossed and a die-cut page with a polka-dot background.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkL-aY_-bHtDjVp3KaqIpbxbReiarKN0uZV9J4_9Vr2W7DQBo-SWrXsVivX7vqx2I3rzurKEPnjNApzgMViZi6ITWyQSt4WZadkxhDbM5t60N2jkPnoz7fzVEztxp-Aa7U1-Kdi9L78vc/s1600/dd+220.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkL-aY_-bHtDjVp3KaqIpbxbReiarKN0uZV9J4_9Vr2W7DQBo-SWrXsVivX7vqx2I3rzurKEPnjNApzgMViZi6ITWyQSt4WZadkxhDbM5t60N2jkPnoz7fzVEztxp-Aa7U1-Kdi9L78vc/s320/dd+220.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Embellishment
and paper layers. I took a die-cut 4x6" card and cut it down--yes, you
can do that!--so that I show that these photos continue to be from the
25th. Additionally, I adhered that card to the outside of the
protector. You can do that too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8BrTHDvXYH4OGgbVHM2AMa_jSgF8ae1Xi7o4lVYe60eEz2bmcHFP-5tfkArcl8Wd1ICVpEA-AW7Y9VKg_QtVBbnk4YdxS62UAz4m_lPk-s5Q-UubtutcMtcTgDq7YEdws3QlX4ELYWas/s1600/dd+223.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8BrTHDvXYH4OGgbVHM2AMa_jSgF8ae1Xi7o4lVYe60eEz2bmcHFP-5tfkArcl8Wd1ICVpEA-AW7Y9VKg_QtVBbnk4YdxS62UAz4m_lPk-s5Q-UubtutcMtcTgDq7YEdws3QlX4ELYWas/s320/dd+223.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Layers,
rub-ons, stamps, and punches create these two pages. Again, I used
elements that include the date for a reference point.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-cysyjsUL6JpfvSXnV_Tn2DrH54ahGw-180UGSydoKWEKMaFuSsSmVVXJcczp-z79ckPM5HNzJEw2J_jdictDopxrqJnZGaxfS-4mP99at08zB65i4LrNLejTsktPRfowGz1P9Y1Sxgw/s1600/dd+225.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-cysyjsUL6JpfvSXnV_Tn2DrH54ahGw-180UGSydoKWEKMaFuSsSmVVXJcczp-z79ckPM5HNzJEw2J_jdictDopxrqJnZGaxfS-4mP99at08zB65i4LrNLejTsktPRfowGz1P9Y1Sxgw/s320/dd+225.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Punches,
bits of an old border strip and sequins, lots of sequins. I didn't
plan to put a sequin in every die-cut opening but a few spilled out of
the bag onto the layered card and I thought, "Perfect!". <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGQAz7dynM0SJbWbNXymlIIkrqci_e5ANoC88toDVp6_bbnEqOEAjCCQ3ftLGMubNiN1BP4jezqHbFxni5qutFbIyEGNhA-ZyEHll9Q6TgmBcbS8tZYIp8AA5etNJT8UJB2YGFIleiwII/s1600/dd+227.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGQAz7dynM0SJbWbNXymlIIkrqci_e5ANoC88toDVp6_bbnEqOEAjCCQ3ftLGMubNiN1BP4jezqHbFxni5qutFbIyEGNhA-ZyEHll9Q6TgmBcbS8tZYIp8AA5etNJT8UJB2YGFIleiwII/s320/dd+227.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Sorry
for the glare here, it's hard when you have those divided pocket
protectors to get the lighting just right. The last of the pages. I
took tons of photos however and I'm thinking they'll go into the general
scrapbook in divided pages. There's just so many unforgettable pix I
have to include them all.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ470xssbrrr550jJG4EwEXeOIIQhn4vdCGAfoNUMyyB8uY-Q7Xnmvz40_grTQEYU7oJvDbsxHLH9StM7sjpdhUgnWVfrZkmd3T7Vi2nJBd82phaeP83jhmysEELzTdhh3gnugi6ecrNY/s1600/dd+229.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ470xssbrrr550jJG4EwEXeOIIQhn4vdCGAfoNUMyyB8uY-Q7Xnmvz40_grTQEYU7oJvDbsxHLH9StM7sjpdhUgnWVfrZkmd3T7Vi2nJBd82phaeP83jhmysEELzTdhh3gnugi6ecrNY/s320/dd+229.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
A
future page--I need to add the date, but in my pre-design phase I
included extra pages for days I knew there would be too much to include
in one photo. This page is for the weekend, for the Edwardson-Roberts
Shindig when we celebrate Christmas with my husband's family. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgwmvwAA1FjUIKbxtidzRfQzvxPq4Q5qiPj_rZBCVG0TgFq-oMwar8Io-EAwFxctjEDRGicePywLbeV9gpwo_oKNuTlWs56VrG9NXXgmx63tJtyBU4Q0rOgzFoKdmyqCtbCMVzr5PECpY/s1600/dd+231.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgwmvwAA1FjUIKbxtidzRfQzvxPq4Q5qiPj_rZBCVG0TgFq-oMwar8Io-EAwFxctjEDRGicePywLbeV9gpwo_oKNuTlWs56VrG9NXXgmx63tJtyBU4Q0rOgzFoKdmyqCtbCMVzr5PECpY/s320/dd+231.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I
acutally stitched right through the protector and one layer of paper. I
used my We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy tool to pierce the protector (the
foam mat slipped in so I'd only go through one side) and lightly poked
the holes into the paper with my piercer. Then I hand-sewed the
border. Cool, huh?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSu6IwQnU790pXHX8lfeOAAyv4XbBGR93K30Jx5xZFHeEXT0WWkJVqvkJPsTkIc6QjXbd6OCGYftlFa8lz7lCOvd8TRo7KhHWyswiK42Kngqg1q2tft2fA6qNeHjv0UOorO8TfZe24Jgk/s1600/dd+232.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSu6IwQnU790pXHX8lfeOAAyv4XbBGR93K30Jx5xZFHeEXT0WWkJVqvkJPsTkIc6QjXbd6OCGYftlFa8lz7lCOvd8TRo7KhHWyswiK42Kngqg1q2tft2fA6qNeHjv0UOorO8TfZe24Jgk/s320/dd+232.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I
added a backer so you wouldn't see the sewing and made good use of my
tools--punches!--to add interest. Again, I layered these on top of the
protector so I could go out of bounds. I find the Beacon 3-in-1 glue
adheres to the plastic nicely.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
If you've made it this far, thanks! I had a lot I wanted to say and show.<br />
<br />
So,
this is it. My last Memory Works blog post. I am feeling
bittersweet. I have loved every minute of being on the design team
these last two years. I am sad to see it all end. I look forward to the
blog shares and hops that other, former design team members are
planning and participating in. I hope you will follow my personal blog,
which you can access from the sidebar here to stay on top of my scrappy
adventures. I hope Kevin and Amber and Simple Stories grow far beyond
their dreams. I thank all the great folks in the office who supported
us throughout the years. And to all my fellow Memory Works consultants,
cheers to you! Best wishes for a blessed New Year. Thanks Memory
Works, it's been wonderful.<br />

Once again craziness reigned supreme in my life. Between shopping,
cooking, decorating, celebrating, kid's Christmas programs and parties
and a couple of inches of snow and ice I took a couple of photos to
chronicle the madness-of-it-all.<br />
Friday the 13th...bwahaha...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4_0b6BBA899kLi_6AfftveRZKiMYXtl-fyOiFVycK_BL1tisVl4XS-jNVCW0iXEp0p0Rjo1SjoNIgyyRBhlb5ZJLxAgk0Nl7sMWyH_0PSThHfG4njUXXSVRRKK8vrLiZ3ooZZ_s9AbmE/s1600/002.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4_0b6BBA899kLi_6AfftveRZKiMYXtl-fyOiFVycK_BL1tisVl4XS-jNVCW0iXEp0p0Rjo1SjoNIgyyRBhlb5ZJLxAgk0Nl7sMWyH_0PSThHfG4njUXXSVRRKK8vrLiZ3ooZZ_s9AbmE/s320/002.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I
included a pocket here for cards. I wanted a place to pop all those
wonderful photo cards we receive from family and friends and even though
they won't all have come on the 13th, it was an opportune spot for this
pocket.<br />
<br />
When I made my album I was aware of many of
the activities we had planned for the month. I knew for instance, that
this weekend would be bookended by church events and I allowed extra
space to include photos of those two events.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXKC9246gmSzdFwUbyqvnfkhTdElFN5LMkp9Mv6oYwDO_EN_fWXjvBKKJdxbBs64NfkWqjDdbf9_b3FW8Jd2DgilekQJCCWVmaZzh7gZh2FGBCFR5_q3GgPc_oKFu4qFD2RX8QjqMBibI/s1600/004.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXKC9246gmSzdFwUbyqvnfkhTdElFN5LMkp9Mv6oYwDO_EN_fWXjvBKKJdxbBs64NfkWqjDdbf9_b3FW8Jd2DgilekQJCCWVmaZzh7gZh2FGBCFR5_q3GgPc_oKFu4qFD2RX8QjqMBibI/s320/004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
As
you'll quickly notice, I created my album assuming I'd have portrait
style photos to pop on those conveniently placed 3x4" cards, but alas,
that didn't happen. No matter. I just stacked the photos and popped on
a stocking and rhinestone word embellishment.<br />
<br />
I used a
die cut page layered on a pattern paper page for fun and a wood veneer
flourish with a holly sprig that I colored and added sequins to.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Shout
out to my STARs, who performed their very first puppet show ever, on
five weeks of lessons and practice. They did a wonderful job.<br />

Saturday...snow
and ice. I decorated my tree, made a big pot of turkey soup and my
husband and I went to a party with a white elephant gift exchange. The
box of hardware will be emptied and I'll use the compartments for
scrappy organization but that snowman tray is going to find a new
home...;) <br />
<br />
I put embellishments on both the inside of
the pockets as well as the outside. These snowflakes were stamped, die
cut and embellished with more sequins and adhered to the outside of the
protector.<br />

Sunday--Week
three of Advent, focused on joy. The devotional materials are in one
pocket. The photos depict our annual church Christmas Celebration. The
room was packed out as usual, you could barely walk through. The kids
performed their program again and the STARs did their puppet
presentation again. <br />
<br />
I love to repeat embellishments, especially in a theme mini, so you'll see lots of these snowflakes dropping down. <br />
<br />

Bonus!
I wanted to share this page topper I made. Inspiration can be found
everywhere. From the first minute I saw the swag/banner decorations in
Target I knew I was going to recreate the effect on a scrapbook page.
If you've shopped your local Target and looked up, you will have noted
that there was mostly flat circles with a few 3-D circles mixed in. I
created that look, punching circles, folding them in half and gluing
them together to create the 3-D circles. I embossed some of the circles
to add texture and interest. <br />
<br />
<br />
Be happy, get scrappy,<br />

I
sure did. I'll start by backtracking to my December Daily set-up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis2ljcG5BCTvWo1zB59JdSKnDYdT99qXaBwur7teongpJXt4Na5PPnKVQ6WxsUphjff5mjrEe2T9zJ7DdKo02zVgSQZEFEfvMLRth2KaSoeo0qPXVvZ7iy7XHtwWtUie5cufqByh88YaA/s1600/088.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis2ljcG5BCTvWo1zB59JdSKnDYdT99qXaBwur7teongpJXt4Na5PPnKVQ6WxsUphjff5mjrEe2T9zJ7DdKo02zVgSQZEFEfvMLRth2KaSoeo0qPXVvZ7iy7XHtwWtUie5cufqByh88YaA/s320/088.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I
started with a red-spined Sn@p binder, the pages and protectors inside
and added to that the December Documented Sn@p pages. I didn't end up
using all the the pages from both sets, so I cut some up and am making
good use of all my materials. I added in the December Sn@p 3x4 cards,
the December Documented Designer Cardstock pack, and December Documented
Pockets pack along with the 6x6 pad and other bits and pieces from my
stash. I titled my Daily "Waiting for Christmas" to go along with the
Advent devotional I'm doing this season. I layered up papers from the
6x6 pad, cards and pockets with a doily from my stash and ribbon left
over from MME Lush collection (which I used for my daughter's wedding
album). I inked everything of course, that's just my style. I set up
my pages thinking about my month, leaving extra space in weekend pages
for the extra activities we enjoy then.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
There a lot of bits and pieces sticking out, that's also my style. :)</div>
<br />
Onto the weekend. As you'll see it was all about food and snow. <br />
<br />

<br />
I
stamped all the day numbers with an old foam stamp set and punched them
out with tag punches. I used my Instax camera to take the pix so they
could go right into the album. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3RKCKhsgEmV9UTe_X2fiyzoD5bT_N5CBSDGb0hqwobFbJiIAXlZXGnQ-JB36OQj0R-A1n0VyR6wHPLtSOwTty88w4CQIyy02J4i3BFX0Kq9Za5rJ4jRYYYCmCL7zdzg2cod8wFOG81ug/s1600/087.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3RKCKhsgEmV9UTe_X2fiyzoD5bT_N5CBSDGb0hqwobFbJiIAXlZXGnQ-JB36OQj0R-A1n0VyR6wHPLtSOwTty88w4CQIyy02J4i3BFX0Kq9Za5rJ4jRYYYCmCL7zdzg2cod8wFOG81ug/s320/087.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
As
you can see I've included my Advent devotion right into the pockets of
my Daily. It is important to me to remember the reason we celebrate
Christmas and this devotional is helping me stay focused on that in the
midst of the constant barrage of materialism this season brings. It
just so happened that this week's message in church mirrored the message
in my devotion so I tucked the notes right into the pocket behind my
devotion notes. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim1Q_im1wW_m_216Gc6jbihc5iTROodHp8uo7-UlQKv6pyK-azGSaauvog6tsqP47Lp6OiMiNrusHtwM8V7szYJkTcMx61oznE5CM7lrSW4QPE-iV-81zc290RWuZDgHk9yffoP31pJ2I/s1600/086.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim1Q_im1wW_m_216Gc6jbihc5iTROodHp8uo7-UlQKv6pyK-azGSaauvog6tsqP47Lp6OiMiNrusHtwM8V7szYJkTcMx61oznE5CM7lrSW4QPE-iV-81zc290RWuZDgHk9yffoP31pJ2I/s320/086.JPG" width="240" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I
created this element by cutting a piece of cardstock 8 1/8" long, 3"
wide and scored it at 4" and slid it right into the protector pocket,
creating this little flap that allowed for an extra photo and journaling
card. I adhered a Sn@p pocket on the outside to tuck in the devotional
notes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So
that was my weekend. What about yours? Did you cook, bake, decorate,
shop, enjoy time with family and friends, or just enjoy some quiet time
before the rush? I pretty much hit all of the above, and love this
crazy time of the year. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Be happy, get scrappy!</div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Heidi Swapp Mixed Company Blog Share</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">"The world is round so that friendship may encircle it"</span> </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
</div>
<br />
<br /><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Confession time. I don't always read all the instructions. When I do they go in one brain cell and out the other. If I don't write it down I'm not responsible to remember. I just had a birthday so I'm getting old. All of these combined created my current conundrum. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I was so excited to be included in this blog share. I briefly read the instructions. I got my box of goodies and it sat on my scrap table for <i>days</i> until I had time to open it up. I was floored by all the product and goodies inside. It was like Christmas. Or my birthday. ;) </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I
immediately thought I'd use the paper with the circles as individual
elements, and that the friendship quote would be perfect for the photos I
took at retreat. But I didn't write it down. <img alt="" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21459" height="200" src="http://www.heidiswapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/HS01060_MixedCompany_6x6PaperPad_400.jpg" title="HS01060_MixedCompany_6x6PaperPad_400" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When I pulled out the pack of goodies during my crop circle time I got caught up in the folder and thought it would make a great mini-album, perfect for the photos from my husband's aunt's recent visit. Imagine an 85 year old Norwegian woman traveling to the US to visit her 83 year old brother (my father-in-law). She speaks very little English yet she traveled on her own to spend some time with him this past summer. I want to be just like her when I grow up. Adventurous. I will blog that mini album one day. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Meanwhile I finally got around to really reading the challenge and instructions for this blog share. Simple enough: Use something round! Hmmm...nothing really round in that mini-album. Now what? I know! I have some great photos from the retreat this summer and those circles would make great embellishments. So without further ado:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdi3hGq7PTejYqzWwutANmjJi5jc-HGv75RJanWPvAcFbT4EoJrnNomlcWHWUyzNH4TpqlKJbrox0nXbpt3PHDKb0soog3yPX_0Akgo927RFXiMStNCgk34b8SAbvcgdTLUXmYO8ijkBw/s1600/blogshare1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="202" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdi3hGq7PTejYqzWwutANmjJi5jc-HGv75RJanWPvAcFbT4EoJrnNomlcWHWUyzNH4TpqlKJbrox0nXbpt3PHDKb0soog3yPX_0Akgo927RFXiMStNCgk34b8SAbvcgdTLUXmYO8ijkBw/s400/blogshare1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I wish retreat could have lasted forever. Well, for another week anyway. Meeting some of the design team members I've worked with online was an experience I'll always remember. They're even more fabulous in person. I remember Gia saying my name and I barely recognized her! Seeing Sheri in the hall and totally recognizing her. Meeting Janey and Rosann and Meg, as well as many of the consultants whose names I only recognized from the studio. I now count these women in my circle of friends and what better quote, papers and pix to go together.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ80y1K7auVgCX28WKxEOufQX3oeEh1oyyYBO-gEoOd_qtJjRcqABKGs1j2_aKbbmuWwr7FkdO_di9YI1j6T7z7Kopg8G4YaQme_hn2VaCqrWtVQ9w7Q0RVOgbDMoPk5w-6u_xxhV9iuA/s1600/blogshare2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ80y1K7auVgCX28WKxEOufQX3oeEh1oyyYBO-gEoOd_qtJjRcqABKGs1j2_aKbbmuWwr7FkdO_di9YI1j6T7z7Kopg8G4YaQme_hn2VaCqrWtVQ9w7Q0RVOgbDMoPk5w-6u_xxhV9iuA/s320/blogshare2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In addition to the Heidi Swapp Mixed Company product--which includes the fun chevron background paper, the mistable Remember background paper, the mistable banner tag and the aforementioned "Good Times" sheet of circles I used a piece of Bazzil Shimmer cardstock, Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists in Mint Green and Gold, Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, a Le Pen in teal and pieces from the blue blog candy bag that was in the box. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I guess the circle motif comes out pretty well, huh? lol I went all out circles. I even included the quote on the rim of my large blue circle. </div>

So here's what you need to do. Leave me a comment. Make it a nice one. ;) Check out <a href="http://spiegelmomscraps.com/" target="_blank">Jody Spiegelhoff, </a><a href="http://ericarosecreates.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Erica Thompson</a>, and <a href="http://www.thepaintedcrane.com/" target="_blank">Gia Lau's</a> blogs. They've all created amazing projects with the Heidi Swapp Mixed Company product. Leave them nice comments too. Follow our blogs if you don't already. Share the posts on Facebook. Tweet them. For every comment and follow and share you'll be entered into a drawing. Gia has put together a really nice Holiday Tag kit for one lucky winner. Looks something like this.</div>

Jody has some blog candy she's going to send out as well. I hear it's sequins. Who doesn't love sequins? </div>

So, in the words of my dearest, darling daughter, shake a tail-feather and check out the rest of the blogs.</div>

<br />
<br />
I hit up my My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas 6"x6" pad for the background panel, strips and punches. The green ribbon is from MME Lush from a couple years ago, leftover from my oldest's wedding album. The brad is from MME as well. <br />
<br />
Remember to link your card to the <a href="http://memoryworksblog.blogspot.com/p/2013-30-days-30-cards.html" target="_blank">Memory Works site. </a><br />

<br />
It's Day 1 of the 30 Days, 30 Cards event and I am up first. Check out <a href="http://memoryworksblog.blogspot.com/b/post-preview?token=BNkFCUIBAAA.NPN5f_a884tjx_RcEpf2ww.hNuPmf1QOPv9v-cMvqTJVQ&postId=2234937703648842332&type=POST" target="_blank">my Memory Works blog post</a> to see the full message. Here is the card I created:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV-ft7bLmh_44iIzOOdyO5zjsxG_x70LZK8O60PB7l9NZ8PMdkTEFoSDpppA3nmmKape7417lKCqt-3LyKyXhkTBJtI2ghtyPxXJfpc25kJsVxA-mtNyv1ugVDS39VYLbWcvDld54kP-8/s1600/30days30cards+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV-ft7bLmh_44iIzOOdyO5zjsxG_x70LZK8O60PB7l9NZ8PMdkTEFoSDpppA3nmmKape7417lKCqt-3LyKyXhkTBJtI2ghtyPxXJfpc25kJsVxA-mtNyv1ugVDS39VYLbWcvDld54kP-8/s320/30days30cards+001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I used Echo Park's Reflections Christmas papers from the 6x6 paper pad (naturally), and My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas stamp. The baker's twine, brad, ornament and snowflake die cuts were from my stash. This card went together in a snap. <br />

Back for another year, it's the 30 Days, 30 Cards challenge. The Memory Works team will post a sketch each day on the Memory Works blog and you are invited to participate in the fun! Create a card using Memory Works products (past and present), post it to the 30 Days page on the blog and you'll be entered into the fun. You'll have 30 great, hand-made cards when you're done. I'll post here a recap of the week and the cards I've made for the challenge. Let's see what you can do in 30 days!<br />

It's finally here, Blog Hop day!!! I've been looking forward to this for a month or so now. I'm loving all the new products in the Fall/Winter catalog, which you can see<a href="http://www.memory-works.com/admin/images/product/CMThemeSetsm.jpg" target="_blank"> here</a>.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /> </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
First, <i>THANK YOU</i> for patiently hopping along. You've made to to the end! <br /> </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
Today, I'm featuring products from Fancy Pants <a href="http://www.memory-works.com/admin/images/product/CMThemeSetsm.jpg" target="_blank">Capturing Moments</a>. I love the colors and images in this theme set. I started with a basic two-page layout. I don't worry much about scrapping chronologically and pull out pix that look good with the colors in them.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyJ6XXsWPNjnms2OhOt92l67pGHf993UowRG2YpqcsuYxdyrvFz9h5nTAnHrGQS1HZB5M8Aq11rdo4vDKYOiAEuy4GV6ZsDu0AeLpjRH5KDbLXRMucf6zxQZuJ_YrOEssAH09FQpD4A4s/s1600/octbh1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="166" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyJ6XXsWPNjnms2OhOt92l67pGHf993UowRG2YpqcsuYxdyrvFz9h5nTAnHrGQS1HZB5M8Aq11rdo4vDKYOiAEuy4GV6ZsDu0AeLpjRH5KDbLXRMucf6zxQZuJ_YrOEssAH09FQpD4A4s/s320/octbh1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
As you can see, this is all about dying Easter Eggs. I loved the colors of the papers with the colors of my granddaughters eggs. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixeTO-cNEmJHBuur0cTTBl7ZqcQenueBDxxhSTH1iTmu_7HlEjpcZon5aouq15JEgc3MSciQDtNVBFAjV-pHWFHMMhy9ErUnARYMKx10AJrjk4D3R9Yijt2Lgkw6AqNIzv8vvouduyMns/s1600/octbh1cu1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixeTO-cNEmJHBuur0cTTBl7ZqcQenueBDxxhSTH1iTmu_7HlEjpcZon5aouq15JEgc3MSciQDtNVBFAjV-pHWFHMMhy9ErUnARYMKx10AJrjk4D3R9Yijt2Lgkw6AqNIzv8vvouduyMns/s320/octbh1cu1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I used the 6x6" paper pad to for the die cut flowers and scalloped oval. Otherwise, I let the paper speak to me. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtWKSR-N0hPRKwm9rw-ysU-Jh482uzvSnMKthJe34ZDB2f7KEvsCTF_WmQs_TWcdzfGrnbNScpbnt_M7outZeK9iDJWsP5Mi6XZ8oC1AILqEWcwV_legq3QdtjmdtBLWaBglebX-fUhxw/s1600/octbh1cu2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtWKSR-N0hPRKwm9rw-ysU-Jh482uzvSnMKthJe34ZDB2f7KEvsCTF_WmQs_TWcdzfGrnbNScpbnt_M7outZeK9iDJWsP5Mi6XZ8oC1AILqEWcwV_legq3QdtjmdtBLWaBglebX-fUhxw/s320/octbh1cu2.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
I made good use of the ephemera pack, tags and ticket roll as well. <br />
<br />
When I got together with my crop circle, my friend Kim brought along some vintage Halloween images and ideas for the Halloween Crafternoon for which she was preparing. I borrowed some of the images and supplies she brought, paired them with my Capturing Moments scraps and came up with this fun rosette.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtHrGLrLPzroFzx5fCz9dFC1TYB5oqEbe2_pJgeDTY_SiIWPLD3x3YJ4hyTwRgHwYU2WM0s5SIpQNni5tc-ZRoTfxgb6ytC5MFghaM8hcvSAfRAU64YYnAiqMio3vmmwyAyvbUR1hN6aU/s1600/octbh2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtHrGLrLPzroFzx5fCz9dFC1TYB5oqEbe2_pJgeDTY_SiIWPLD3x3YJ4hyTwRgHwYU2WM0s5SIpQNni5tc-ZRoTfxgb6ytC5MFghaM8hcvSAfRAU64YYnAiqMio3vmmwyAyvbUR1hN6aU/s320/octbh2.jpg" width="258" /></a></div>
I made the rosette with 2-2 1/2x12 inch paper strips that I edge-punched, and my Martha Stewart Score Board. I fussy cut the pumpkin image and pulled out some of the pieces in the ephemera pack and layered them up. Inked the edges too. Isn't he cute? <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7iearONrxSemNiIvvS8jGvOLWMEKokpgxv3ynFW6KXnxrIBqewHNbnvPm7s6Bf5DG2_WagwyJla206T3pQyXG4F9Y0bQoxQdF1bphoRvw0TS8IZ4pemsniqwjNbsKLMi2Nb1RTNaC-SY/s1600/octbh3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7iearONrxSemNiIvvS8jGvOLWMEKokpgxv3ynFW6KXnxrIBqewHNbnvPm7s6Bf5DG2_WagwyJla206T3pQyXG4F9Y0bQoxQdF1bphoRvw0TS8IZ4pemsniqwjNbsKLMi2Nb1RTNaC-SY/s320/octbh3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
This Boo tag started with a tag made from the 6x6" paper pad and layered with another piece from that pad. I used a Studio Calico stencil and black soot distress ink for the next layer. Another fussy cut vintage image and collar from a cupcake liner provided by Kim and ephemera and ticket from the collection. </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br />Looking over these three projects I realized I could have used holiday themed papers to create them, but rather than limit my creativity to papers only used for specific holidays I can use any papers I fall in love with and use them for any memory--holiday or otherwise. </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
Again, thanks for hopping along. I know you've seen some amazing projects from the TeamWorks girls. Each is so talented and has a unique style. I am honored to be a part of the team. </div>

I decided to create a Sn@p book featuring the photos I have cooking and baking with my loved ones.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love to cook and bake and in my world tasty food = love. And yes, that's why I am perpetually overweight. LOL</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When I go through photos I find so many pix cooking and baking with family and friends. There are also lots of family recipes that have become favorites over the years. I thought this would be a great way to collect them and pass them on.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I left open spaces to write in recipes of our favorites. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I already put in a few recipes.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNfhEa3EI604ARy0sJ-N7QsyM83708m6iWq5hTtA2IyTVAo48KzZXz21Fb_TzyGtOfgmpy41y2YI2eye9YWnU-XkTh3hnLO__OhwC4vCpGRf1H79ZAt9t4MZQIh1lm9gZq6tX1fhG-QhQ/s1600/bidwelledwardsonsnap6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNfhEa3EI604ARy0sJ-N7QsyM83708m6iWq5hTtA2IyTVAo48KzZXz21Fb_TzyGtOfgmpy41y2YI2eye9YWnU-XkTh3hnLO__OhwC4vCpGRf1H79ZAt9t4MZQIh1lm9gZq6tX1fhG-QhQ/s320/bidwelledwardsonsnap6.jpg" width="249" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm using mostly Sn@p 24/Seven papers but I recently picked up some kitchen-y embellishments from the Farmhouse paper line and I can't wait to add them in as well. Since the papers are so basic, I can mix and match them in easily.</div>
<br />
Sn@p books are quickly becoming a favorite. After making one at i {heart} memories retreat I became hooked. In addition to this Sn@p book I worked with two friends to create a 2 volume first year baby book for a scrappy friend. We gave it to her at her shower, and she claims it hasn't left her bedside since. It started out as 1 book. We created so many pages we needed to expand to 2 books. LOL We did sections on getting ready for baby, welcome home baby, baby's firsts, baby's first year, family and a blank section to be used however she wants. I'm planning a December Daily using a Sn@p book and looking for ways to incorporate pocket-page scrapbooking into my design style. This is a trend that will help get more stories recorded and I'm all about getting our stories recorded. So give Sn@p a try!<br />

Be happy, get scrappy,<br />

I created this layout for a MemoryWorks Creative Friday post. I used Basic Grey's Mint Julip papers for this layout. I layered the papers, tags, card and envelope and made some flowers using the 6"x6" paper pad and the Tim Holtz Mini Tattered Floral die. </div>

This simple layout uses layers to create interest and feature the photo of Dinara and myself. It came together quickly once I found papers that picked up the colors in our clothes. I love the little bird as well, a favorite punch from Stampin' Up! </div>

My plan was to take it with me and fill it out as I traveled and I actually followed through with that plan! Of course I couldn't add the photos until after I came home and printed them, but I took pix in the moment and journaled info about them. It was challenging to guess how many pix I would put in, which ones, and how best to arrange them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMR0eVv4OiAgyyVpT-640cfoFg5P5Z4mZmGFp0GdG_lrmqH1mh4OIUKOENITi0DstiIcXxLKQ0-iT0reKRXre4M-taxhcle1zvMi-a2dveNGxXMzWchKcwH23qDWIldlty8NGj5-0bAZw/s1600/216.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMR0eVv4OiAgyyVpT-640cfoFg5P5Z4mZmGFp0GdG_lrmqH1mh4OIUKOENITi0DstiIcXxLKQ0-iT0reKRXre4M-taxhcle1zvMi-a2dveNGxXMzWchKcwH23qDWIldlty8NGj5-0bAZw/s320/216.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started with two Sn@p sized full-sized page protectors and used them to create a soft covered book. I could have easily used a Sn@p binder but I wanted a soft book that I could throw in my travel bag. This worked perfectly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkdaXRGjuN1vGp1Xe18JNhyphenhyphenwH_27tc7goDjfD5PaFltVAeaZX61juXVtm4t4h-40NaV4YQ1rIDbZVBGQkCwUe1EAK2pHf1GjGmzJB8EFyTFLNJMakU99FWqNlrCSh5WcKKi6O1Q92NDAU/s1600/218.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkdaXRGjuN1vGp1Xe18JNhyphenhyphenwH_27tc7goDjfD5PaFltVAeaZX61juXVtm4t4h-40NaV4YQ1rIDbZVBGQkCwUe1EAK2pHf1GjGmzJB8EFyTFLNJMakU99FWqNlrCSh5WcKKi6O1Q92NDAU/s320/218.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used pockets throughout the book to tuck in memorabilia, here I've collected some of my luggage tags, including the weight tag from my suitcase. I just made it with a 49lb suitcase. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since my morning started with missing my flight, I started my journal in the airport waiting for my new flight. I used my iPhone to take pix. I created pages of various sizes using the Sn@p papers, 4"x6" and 3"x4" journal cards.</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I resized most of my photos to fit into my format. I wrote right on the papers, not worrying about designs.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After I put all the photos and ephemera in I added in stickers and other embellishments that were left over from creating my album.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I matted all the photos on kraft card stock for continuity, and inked them all as well.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Pockets were used to hold journaling cards as well. I also used the day stickers to keep track of the day's journaling.</div>

I am so glad I created this journal to take with me. I met the wonderful team gals I've only known via cyberspace and had a great time working and playing with them. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the last page to wrap up my journaling and write some of my final impressions. I was so exhausted here waiting to go home, missing my family and home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once again I bound my journal with my Bind-It-All. I will treasure this journal forever, for the beautiful pix of our country, the fun times spent with family and friends and the thoughts I managed to record of my time away.</div>

Here I'll showcase the Simple Stories 24/Seven papers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZjTUfa-Oy6bKc_6NJAPbUZXaZ-QdBSNVzmv3oZ3Jnut78oSX_IBe_qXrTQsxe0CUQBm3rw3I7zzofkCTs6ImGkIrQ7BWfgqaoSTFP8PkH3htbG5PCO3LG5g9PrTlP4JfFYLcuDQ9tSt4/s1600/bidwelledwardsonlookbookspring2013datescalendar1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZjTUfa-Oy6bKc_6NJAPbUZXaZ-QdBSNVzmv3oZ3Jnut78oSX_IBe_qXrTQsxe0CUQBm3rw3I7zzofkCTs6ImGkIrQ7BWfgqaoSTFP8PkH3htbG5PCO3LG5g9PrTlP4JfFYLcuDQ9tSt4/s320/bidwelledwardsonlookbookspring2013datescalendar1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started with a mini perpetual calendar using the calendar cards included in the paper line. For the cover I used one of the acrylic overlays to protect the paper cover. I titled the book dates 2 remember and created a space to list birthdays and anniversaries for each month.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg326xCFYxWkGvVLk0Wuf1wFgbrL4vqEgWA2CqJFuYpU4C1u_YxM6FIfV4kbdSwDLY8zqQ63_gEPnT-P8rv7AvoE1dn6HBnn9lFHMHf0Yt2dEkdFMdaCJFjbcBxQVRavPdXjgODOihoe78/s1600/bidwelledwardsonlookbookspring2013datescalendar2_edited-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="123" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg326xCFYxWkGvVLk0Wuf1wFgbrL4vqEgWA2CqJFuYpU4C1u_YxM6FIfV4kbdSwDLY8zqQ63_gEPnT-P8rv7AvoE1dn6HBnn9lFHMHf0Yt2dEkdFMdaCJFjbcBxQVRavPdXjgODOihoe78/s320/bidwelledwardsonlookbookspring2013datescalendar2_edited-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I created little tags for each month to make it easy to turn to the correct month quickly.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7oiHGMGz8EslJqovrXowaOjP3elgc6HEGiQ_nQsvMEaCkcyvSqYOkkRF4tAu3V9APjwFZz6bWX18hKgMGgq9CdSMrmmlnTEjmEkP4Ly9_daG8KD9O_2UvvRzcEtJzCuoyfC59Sap1uhA/s1600/bidwelledwardsonlookbookspring2013datescalendar2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="136" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7oiHGMGz8EslJqovrXowaOjP3elgc6HEGiQ_nQsvMEaCkcyvSqYOkkRF4tAu3V9APjwFZz6bWX18hKgMGgq9CdSMrmmlnTEjmEkP4Ly9_daG8KD9O_2UvvRzcEtJzCuoyfC59Sap1uhA/s320/bidwelledwardsonlookbookspring2013datescalendar2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used alphas from the sticker sheet to signify the birthday and anniversary list.</div>

I've been crazy busy but not everything was post-able due to design assignments and such. It's long past time to share, so here we go. <br />
<br />
We were assigned several lines to work with to create a MemoryWorks Spring/Summer Look Book. We were given so much wonderful product to work with and told to make as much or little as we wanted with the product. I got two great lines--Bo Bunny's Mama Razzi II and Simple Stories 24/Seven. I loved the blues and greens in the Mama Razzi II. Surprise, surprise. lol <br />

It is an amazing pic of my daughter Kerry taken by C. Whitney-Ward and posted on the blog, Chasing Santa Fe:<div>
<a href="http://chasingsantafe.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2013-03-05T19:28:00-07:00&max-results=20&start=3&by-date=false#.UYKIA7Xqmtg">http://chasingsantafe.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2013-03-05T19:28:00-07:00&max-results=20&start=3&by-date=false#.UYKIA7Xqmtg</a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After obtaining permission to print the photo I let it sit here for a while. First, I loved seeing my daughter, so lovely, since I haven't seen her in person in over a year. But I will be seeing her soon. :)</div>
<div>
Then, my new Memory Works catalogs arrived and low and behold, we have Graphic 45 papers this season and I knew at that moment I would be using the Secret Garden collection to scrap this photo.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started with the stripped background paper and grabbed the floral print with a small purple print on the "B" side I used the scraps from cutting it down as well. A little spritz of water along the ends made it easy to curl the edges for texture. I sewed it on, sloppily, but that's about the level of my sewing skills. A Maggie Homes fabric polaroid frame die cut centers in on Kerry's face. She has gorgeous blue eyes, huh? I added additional layers of papers, die cuts, flowers, butterflies, and a wood veneer doily from Michaels. The key is grunge board covered in paper and then run through a texture folder and inked. When she was younger she wore a key around her neck prompting Eden to nickname her Kiki, and Kiki she is today. So the key <i>had</i> to make the layout. I should have zeroed in on that to show you the punched bird. The wonderful thin about punches is that you can turn them over and see exactly where you are punching. /The wording on the head of the bird says "plant good seeds," good advice for everyone. The wing is a rose bud. </div>

A close up of the flowers I made using a few 6"x6" pieces from the paper pad using the t!m holtz mini tattered floral die. I inked and stacked using gem topped brads to hold them together.</div>

The colors are muted and beautiful. I used it in the blog hop last week and I created this piece for the Memory Works April Express Kit blog post and I wanted to share it here too because I really love how it turned out. <br />

I used my Nestabilites label dies--both the Grand Nestabilities and regular sized to create the layers. I also added lots of ink on the edges. I had Nestabling from Want 2 Scrap and added that as an edge for this piece. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used another Spellbinders die to create the rolled rose and leaves. The dangling charm was a sticker from the embellishment sheet, covered with an idea'ology fragment. The laser cut butterfly came with the kit, the two smaller butterflies are Recollections and the bling from my stash. The seam binding was colored with Distress Ink. The garden stamp I picked up at StampScrapArt from Rubbernecker stamps. The little dangle teardrop is from Maya Road. I love how it turned out. Wait, I think I said that already. Need a Memory Works consultant? I'd be happy to show you all the great papers, embellishments, stamps, inks, tools and other supplies we carry and hook you up with Simple Stories Vintage Bliss supplies.</div>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">

<br />
I worked with the new Simple Stories Vintage Bliss line. The colors are a tad muted which gives it a vintage look and all the flowers and butterflies put you in mind of Spring. I created a tag and a layout using this line.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWi3zvdEaGJYUH5O0itLR2XVYwy2GKac9qRF8wBf_NyC1NDBWH2Zs_62ysp6MXwA4-ueTNDZ0uTJppX2d5k6pTguRW-7ZM3VmidFpuMFWsv9p6429BopuWtRubebxT_ISo2ou8qftXAUs/s1600/springsummerbloghoplayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWi3zvdEaGJYUH5O0itLR2XVYwy2GKac9qRF8wBf_NyC1NDBWH2Zs_62ysp6MXwA4-ueTNDZ0uTJppX2d5k6pTguRW-7ZM3VmidFpuMFWsv9p6429BopuWtRubebxT_ISo2ou8qftXAUs/s400/springsummerbloghoplayout.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the beautiful distressed wood paper for the background and layered in the chevron and polka dot papers. I made good use of the sticker and brad embellishments and used them to create a pattern on the polka dot paper. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1M16yZMTxSIhVXV0n9HyPzjhWVGU85NoMn4WQ9j6oj0d2ZLlcNxv35HvXrZZQtuxuNbCeAmJ40992l_0ZQOKyMpspC7fTOsYNpZf10w5Q3acSaugA_QVsABjXAVOy0sfc9KBtA5cMcW8/s1600/springsummerbloghoptag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1M16yZMTxSIhVXV0n9HyPzjhWVGU85NoMn4WQ9j6oj0d2ZLlcNxv35HvXrZZQtuxuNbCeAmJ40992l_0ZQOKyMpspC7fTOsYNpZf10w5Q3acSaugA_QVsABjXAVOy0sfc9KBtA5cMcW8/s320/springsummerbloghoptag.jpg" width="262" /></a></div>
<br />
This tag uses that polka dot paper again--it is definitely a fave!, along with a die cut label, butterfly and spiral-rolled rose and leaf. <br />
<br />

Tim Holtz posted this challenge on his blog and seeing as this tattered floral die is one of my favorites I had to play along. <br />

I've had these photos for sitting in my to-scrap pile for a while now. I made a mini album with pics from the event but I wanted layouts for my scrapbook as well. The flowers I made are in the corners. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The patterned papers are Simple Stories Documented, an older line, but the pinks pulled me in and I had to use them. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I created the flowers by first taking plain white cardstock and layering washi tapes on them. It doesn't photograph well here, and I guess I should have taken a photo of the paper before I started die cutting it. I used washi tapes from Recollections and criss-crossed the tapes until most of the paper was covered. Then I ran it through the die.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1G62xOnlSx1IKNMt062UZuBhMwAF4KFWXjjV78Du1M10THcdibemPqdL6Euc7ykK7r0qWU9vHfhe7zNE5VxrFxHgwuC9HA-g7JKHW6hmBM8XaP6h4tLZF_V_yyZ0jAkg1vRRGR6dBy3k/s1600/surprise4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1G62xOnlSx1IKNMt062UZuBhMwAF4KFWXjjV78Du1M10THcdibemPqdL6Euc7ykK7r0qWU9vHfhe7zNE5VxrFxHgwuC9HA-g7JKHW6hmBM8XaP6h4tLZF_V_yyZ0jAkg1vRRGR6dBy3k/s320/surprise4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I layered in some old denim as well. I tried to add color to the washi tapes with stains and Perfect Pearl mists but the surface of the tape wouldn't absorb the color. I could have gone with alcohol inks but I wanted most of the design on the tapes to show through. I cut the leaves from some felt. I love layering flowers with this die, it is so versatile. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Play along and see what you can create with Tim's Tattered Floral die.</div>

I recently decided to play with some of my washi tapes and created two fun projects with them.<br />
<br />
First up is a tag I created:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWZuaNYJMrFs6YQmDOmDRshC0Yes3bSCBxfB1FpAQXeDLI96X5hXVUn1KKStKRTj-b7VHNSwEzPYTek0wuqpNsMT8_auKo4aAsZ0s2RTj8ZRSHiAtS7RLC8m8GrFS8_GBLiyTMY61uGNc/s1600/playinwithwashitag2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWZuaNYJMrFs6YQmDOmDRshC0Yes3bSCBxfB1FpAQXeDLI96X5hXVUn1KKStKRTj-b7VHNSwEzPYTek0wuqpNsMT8_auKo4aAsZ0s2RTj8ZRSHiAtS7RLC8m8GrFS8_GBLiyTMY61uGNc/s320/playinwithwashitag2.jpg" width="204" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started with a basic manilla shipping tag that I covered in pieces of Bella Blvd washi tape in a zig-zag, chevon-esque design. Then I stamped on the taped background with some Archival Ink in brown.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

From there I added a couple of chipboard pieces from Michaels. I spritzed them with Glimmer Mist and layered on some Pearl Dabber paint, as well as some Mr Huey's ink. I cut a beaded oval and leaf stem out of scraps from Spellbinders dies.Next I made a bow from seam binding, added in some Petaloo flowers and "love" a metal word from my stash. I love how it turned out. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up is a little 3"x 3" gift card. I started with a 6" x 6" paper pad and cut a piece in half. Yet another use for those cute paper pads! </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started by die-cutting a scalloped circle on the front side of the card. I cut a piece of coordinating paper in a square to back the cut-out. It needed to be coordinating because I knew the washi tapes would be translucent and the paper would show through. I've made cards using iris folding and this is the idea I started with to create the cut-out panel. Usually with iris folding you start from the outside and work in, here I started from the inside and worked out. I simply laid down layers of washi tapes from three different designs, overlapping them to fill in the cut-out. You can see the layers well in the polka-dotted washi tape. I then took that same polka-dot washi tape and folded it in on itself and fashioned it into a rose. I punched the greenery and butterfly from scraps to finish off the card. "For You" is from a Stamps of Life set. These washi tapes are all Recollections from Michaels. </div>

I have had these photos out, cropped and ready for scrapping for months now. I even picked out the papers I wanted to use, I just never got around to getting them into my scrapbook. I finally decided to play around with them this week. <br />

These are Lily Bee Double Dutch papers. They have such a summery, playful feel to them, perfect to scrap an annual, early summer fair held to benefit our local hospital. While I didn't mix any other papers with them, Lily Bee's prints always seem perfect to mix into other lines. Their prints are so versatile and I find I cannot resist buying them. </div>

I used some pennants and banners to pick up on the banners seen in the photos. I took my granddaughter Eden as a treat since she was sleeping over and who better to join her than another 6 year old and my nephew Evan was the perfect companion. I decided it would be one of those nights where they could try anything they wanted and the anit-gravity bounce, a bit of a splurge, was a hit. They were both far more fearless than I thought they'd be and went on every thrill ride they were tall enough to ride alone. No way I was getting on those. :)</div>

They played the carnival games and won prizes, ate pizza and ice cream and we finished off our day with a ferris wheel ride just in time to see the fire works from a great vantage point. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Bella Blvd washi tapes are perfectly matched with the colors here and I used Recollections Polaroid frame around a couple of the photos. I played with embellishments, fashioning first some pinwheels, then layered flowers and finally decided on simple hearts. Of course I've inked my papers with Peeled Paint Distress inks. I love inks. </div>

I decided to play with stencils and mists, layered flowers, distressed edges, and lots of layers and this was my result. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLJm_cD1XTk4cjBaOuzeS87pdfJl5Jq_i1jzKEmr2n5VH0xp6KMXvri_Sey16uqHfrp3SwZGwFQbkdSJejYwwi0t0vaWXoWsPwoTs9sgr0k4PBCilCzSjLlW0ObHBU7HYe4YcM856fnnc/s1600/delicious.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLJm_cD1XTk4cjBaOuzeS87pdfJl5Jq_i1jzKEmr2n5VH0xp6KMXvri_Sey16uqHfrp3SwZGwFQbkdSJejYwwi0t0vaWXoWsPwoTs9sgr0k4PBCilCzSjLlW0ObHBU7HYe4YcM856fnnc/s320/delicious.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used a couple of Donna Salazar papers from the Antiquities paper pad and layered on a butterfly stencil, followed with a spray of mist. I used a Donna Salazar flower die and layered up all the sizes with some brads. There's a kraft doily behind the flowers and under that lace and the corner is corseted with some bakers twine. I threw in a rhinestone flourish and a grunge board flourish with some Stickles for shine. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The photo is actually taken on one of my daily walks with my employer's dog, Charlie. We take pretty much the same route every day and each day as I walked by I'd not just stop and smell the roses, I'd stop and drink in the scent. I had to stop and take a photo to remember these delicious roses.</div>
